Synaxe and Ecominéro webinar on trends and innovations in the mining sector - Replay available.

In the current context, the building sector is subject to strong environmental, economic and regulatory pressures. Between the urgency to reduce ecological impact, resource management, and new legal obligations, construction companies must constantly evolve to meet the requirements of a changing world. That's where actors like Synaxe and Ecominéro, which provide concrete and adapted solutions to facilitate this transition.

In this article, we will come back to the webinar organized by Synaxe and Ecominéro, dedicated to how their solutions can simplify management and compliance operations, while meeting the obligations of the REP PMCB (Extended Producer Responsibility for Building Construction Products and Materials).

Synaxe: Simplifying and digitizing the operations of building actors

With more than twenty years of experience, Synaxe is a French company specialized in the digitalization of construction trades. Thanks to its software and automated solutions, Synaxe supports companies in the effective management of their operations, whether for recycling platforms, quarries, or concrete and asphalt plants.

The solutions offered by Synaxe integrate all the essential aspects of construction sites, from the management of material flows to the traceability of waste, including invoicing. By integrating these tools into their processes, businesses not only gain in efficiency, but also in environmental compliance, a crucial asset in the face of new regulations.

Indeed, digitalization has become indispensable in the building. Today, 90% of businesses in the sector believe that digital technologies have transformed at least one aspect of their business, and those who invest in these tools see productivity increases by more than 15%. This data highlights the importance of digital transformation in order to remain competitive.

The PMCB REP: a responsibility and a transformative tool for businesses

La Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), established by the Agec law of 2020, requires manufacturers, distributors and importers of building materials to finance and organize the management of end-of-life products. Entered into force in 2023, this regulation is based on the “polluter pays” principle and aims to strengthen the responsibility of manufacturers in terms of eco-design, i.e. their ability to design reusable and recyclable products.

Eco-organisms such as Ecominéro play a key role in the implementation of EPR by supporting building companies in the management of their waste. Ecominéro, a specialist in inert waste, offers a comprehensive service, in partnership with other eco-organizations, to offer craftsmen and building professionals a free recovery solution near construction sites. Thanks to this device, waste holders can deposit their materials at no cost, thus promoting an effective circular economy in the building sector.

Ecominéro: a positive balance sheet and ambitious goals

After 18 months of activity, Ecominéro's results are impressive:

  • More than 2,900 member companies representing 80% of the sales,
  • A network of 3,700 collection points distributed throughout the country, including overseas territories,
  • 10 million tons recycled and recovered inert waste,
  • An inert waste recycling rate of 77%, with the aim of reaching 90% by 2028.

Ecominéro is also working on the development of new recycling channels and on encouraging eco-design, by encouraging manufacturers to integrate recycled materials into their products. For example, since May 2024, an eco-modulation system has been put in place to reduce the amount of eco-participation according to the rate of recycled material.

ERP and opportunities for businesses: a challenge turned into an advantage

While the arrival of REP initially raised concerns, many building companies now see it as a real opportunity for sustainable development. The traceability and free recovery of inert waste encourage the improvement of the sorting of materials, and allow companies to participate in a circular economy approach. In addition, thanks to the support of eco-organizations such as Ecominéro, companies can transform this regulatory constraint into a competitive advantage.

Towards a more sustainable building sector

Thanks to their innovative solutions and their support, Synaxe and Ecominéro allow building actors to approach current challenges with confidence. By facilitating the management of operations, optimizing recycling, and ensuring compliance with regulations, these companies are actively contributing to building a more responsible and sustainable building sector. In a rapidly changing environment, these solutions are essential for companies that want to combine performance and compliance, while contributing to the preservation of natural resources.

Together, Synaxe and Ecominéro show the way to greener and more efficient construction, and offer professionals essential tools to succeed in their ecological and digital transformation.
